Description du poste:

The purpose of the role is to provide for the regular maintenance of all the conveyors in operation at the port, including hot and cold splicing, to maximise equipment availability and support production. To this end, the role holder will be required to

• Take full responsibility to lead the conveyor belt splicing and maintenance team.
• Oversee all maintenance operations on the conveyor system including belt splicing, pulley lagging, alignment, tracking and scraper cleaning. Where required, undertake hot and cold splicing.
• Liaise with the Port Operations & Maintenance teams to optimize availability and efficiency and meet daily targets in a safe manner.
• Report on conveyor availability & compile regular production figures. Attend and contribute to production meetings.
• Plan all resources required, including personnel and funds.
• Abide by all requisite safety standards and support their dissemination amongst the workforce.
• Report all accidents and incidents to management as soon as they occur and support accident and incident investigations.
• Contribute to improving working conditions and equipment availability & use to increase efficiency

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified belt splicer with at least 5 years' experience in conveyor system maintenance, acquired on a bulk minerals port or equivalent infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience of hot and cold vulcanization ;
• International experience an asset.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Good communication skills
• Computer literate
• A command of French and/or English is required. A working knowledge of the second language would be an asset.
