IFES seeks an experienced Election and Civil Society Specialist Consultant to perform the below SOW in Guinea.
Job Responsibilities:
The Election and Civil Society
Specialist Consultant will provide technical and training support to the
IFES project with regards to the design and implementation of trainings
geared towards civil society organizations to build their capacity
under the IFES' project as well as to design and/or facilitate trainings
geared towards the Guinea judiciary sector.The Election and Civil Society Specialist will provide IFES with
technical advice, support, input and programmatic content for a broad
range of technical topics related to elections, including electoral
dispute resolution, CSO capacity-building, inclusion, etc. As part of
the technical advice, it may be necessary to undertake dialogue and
coordination with Guinean CSOs representing a broad range of
stakeholders, including traditionally marginalized groups. The
consultant will also maintain contact with other stakeholders such as
the Guinea election commission (CENI) and the judiciary, for the purpose
of supporting the implementation of capacity building trainings.
- Bachelor's degree in international relations, politics, sociology, or a related field, Master's degree preferred:
- Minimum four 5 of experience working on democracy, governance, or elections programming;
- Experience developing and implementing training programs for civil society organizations required; developing and implementing training programs for election management bodies and/or judiciary preferred;
- Experience working with civil society partners required; experience working with election management bodies and/or the judiciary preferred;
- Demonstrated understanding of the Guinean civil society context and understanding of electoral operations in Guinea;
- Ability to work independently and prepare high quality reports and other programmatic content;
- Ability to communicate with diplomacy;
- Strong oral and written communication skills in French.
