Purpose of the Role :

To provide leadership and technical skills necessary to ensure the safe and efficient metallurgical operations of the Mine processing plant and associated infrastructure operate at optimal level.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Artisan level qualifications
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in gold processing plants with at least 5 years in a supervisory level
• Detailed knowledge and experience of plant operations and production management
• Knowledge or relevant metallurgical unit process and efficiency measures and processes

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure the Crusher, Milling, Gravity, CIL and Elution circuits operate optimally for production;
• Monitor the Tailings storage facility and take the necessary steps to optimise production;
• Continuously analyse plant equipment efficiencies and availabilities to recommend and/or implement planned and preventive maintenance;
• Plan and coordinate periodical checks and put action plans to remedy issues and problems
• Lead shift process operations and deployment of operators;
• Coordinate all handling of chemicals in the mine and ensure compliance by all parties involved;
• Ensure all operators and foremen adhere to safety measures to minimise incidents;
• Liaise and synchronize plant maintenance schedules/ activities with engineering sections
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders of the production process to ensure availability/ utilization optimization;
• Plan activities in accordance with production and maintenance schedules and allocate resources as required;
• Manage subordinates and promote their training and development to ensure ongoing competence of staff;
• Perform section administrative duties as necessary.

• Able to lead a team of workers during a shift in an isolated environment with planning, delegation and coordination of tasks.

The successful applicant will be appointed on a six (06) to twelve (12) month contract with a US dollar-based salary and a rotation schedule/leave breaks.
