Description du poste:
As the Metallurgist reporting to the Process Manager, your primary responsibility will be to provide leadership and direction in the expansion of our existing operations as part of executing the Phoenix MGO growth strategy. The immediate priority will be to lead our processing team towards improving production within established timeframes. The incumbent will be expected to lead a small team through to the start-up of the processing operations. A second and critical function of this role will be to provide temporary leadership for the process manager role as a 2IC during rotation coverage.
Responsibilities
Processing:
- Manage the relevant engineering as well as planning, procurement, recruitment and daily activities on plant.
- Integrate with mine technical team,
- Establish KPI's and manage the tracking and reporting within the company's established project control framework.
- Manages project milestones and budgets measuring performance, and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain the agreed upon schedules, costs and quality.
- Liaison with the management team of the existing operation to ensure satisfaction and agreement with deliverables and timelines.
- Ensure timeliness and completeness of all reports and plans.
- Anticipates problems and proactively mitigates all risks that may hinder the success of a project.

Leadership and Team Development:
- Mentor and develop employees so that they can advance through various career opportunities.
- Consult with internal/external partners to plan and organize necessary project resources
- Interfaces regularly with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle in order to ensure execution is in-line with commitments and expectations.
- Participate in corporate development activities such as scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies as required.
- Provide detailed project completion analysis to ensure efficiencies and learnings are captured and understood as part of the department's continuous improvement cycle.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree strongly preferred with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience on CIL and gravity plants, projects experience compulsory in a safety critical environment
- Expertise with project management processes; project controls, work planning & scheduling, and contract management
- Advanced software skills and knowledge of planning software is preferred
- Strong communication skills with ability to speak and write in English (French is a strong asset)
- Demonstrated record in developing and working with "best in industry" practices
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing local and national employees in a developing country
- Must possess strong cultural sensitivity and be able to execute work successfully in a different culture
