Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of UN Habitat Chief Technical Adviser in Guinea or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer UN Country Coordination Officer will:
- Coordinate UN community mobilisers work in support of the contribution of UN-Habitat and UNV to CODIV 19 response.
Support design, formulation, and implementation, monitoring and reporting of joint programmes, and joint programming processes amongst UN entities with a view for joint resource mobilization;
Provide effective and efficient coordination support to all UN agencies (resident and non-resident to the Pacific) in implementing their programmes as well as initiating new cooperation engagements;
Advise the RC/UNCT in articulating and actively communicating a credible and convincing strategic vision for the UN in Nauru and as part of the multi-country UNDAF, which is consistent with national development goals and priorities, UN values, aligned with the 2030 Agnda and commited to the principles of universality, equality and leaving no one behind. This includes, acting as a member of various national and UN working groups as appropriate.
Through active participation in RCO weekly meetings as well as other inter-agency working groups providing updates on UN's engagement in Nauru, provide strategy advice and develop recommendations to inform decision-making by the RC/UNCT in relation to repositioning of the UN System in Nauru, with consideration to the Standard Operating Procedures for Delivering as One.
Provide written analysis and summary on political, social economic and environment sector developments in Nauru to the RCO and Pacific Joint UNCT.
Advise the RC/UNCT on the development implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the new generation UNDAF in the Pacific and Nauru context
Promote the UNDAF/UNPS and Joint Workplans, ensuring that the UNDAF M&E framework is followed-through and well reported upon considering Nauru context. This could inlcude mapping, monitoring and follow-up on UN's programmes and support against national strategic plan sectors as well as provide written and verbal analysis on UN's engagement in Nauru advising a new entry points for further strengthen the partnership with the government.
Support strategic design of UN's policy and programmatic offer, signature operational capabilities,and partnership
Support identification, analysis and prioritzation of joint programmic work of UN entities in line with the UNDAF and the 2030 Agenda
- Produce periodic reports and visibility or stories of the contribution and impacts of activities while
In consultations with a broad range of stakeholders, advise on positioning the UN-Habitat as a key provider of integrated solutions to support the prevention and reduction of stigmatization of COVID 19.
In close collaboration with the RCO Guinea, ensure the formulation and implementation of the Solidarity response to marginalized neighborhoods, groups and people with disabilities as well as Resource Mobilization Strategy considers the municipal context;
Maintain relationship with government and other partners through sharing relevant information upon and attending relevant meeting upon request;
Support and oversee surveys, invitations to workshops and conferences related to the impact of COVID 19 on housing, innovations, slums, and in public places.
Support the organization of meetings and regular liaison with development partners such as Australia High Commission.

- font-family:" xml:lang="EN-US" lang="EN-US">Advise the UN-Habitat on public messaging and media outreach in pilot sites, and help manage reputational risks or crises around sensitive -.1pt"> issues;
- font-family:" xml:lang="EN-US" lang="EN-US">Give presentations and conduct outreach activities as required (e.g. in markets, bus and trains stations, and possible in marginalized hospitals)
Master degree or equivalent in one of the following domains: project management, epidemiology, climate change, environment, geography ;
Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:24 to 36 Months ; minimum three (3) years of experience with local and community development, climate change and/or environment related issues, of which at least one (1) supporting local governments and/or communities;
Language skills:- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- French(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Community participation and development, Capacity building of non-governmental organizations
